Veterinarian

Job Type: Veterinarian - General Practice

Employment Type: Permanent

What if you didn't have to choose between a caseload that keeps you sharp and a schedule that gives you your life back?

Yorkville Animal Hospital sits along the Fox River about an hour from Chicago, and it’s the kind of place where both are genuinely possible. As a high-volume small animal practice with 6 full-time DVMs, scheduled appointments, and walk-in visits, no two days look alike.

The Opportunity:

• A busy, varied caseload with the support staff and thoughtful scheduling to back it up, including at least two full weekends off every month
• Full medical autonomy and a consistently strong surgical schedule
• Ability to provide mentorship and support to students attending externships
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a DVM in a small animal GP or urgent care setting is required for this role

The Resources:

• Large and modern facility with full in-house diagnostics, including dental and digital x-rays, ultrasound, and lab
• Surgical and therapeutic laser
• Active externship site for multiple veterinary programs, with a pathway to join our mentorship team

The Lifestyle:

• Enjoy easy access to kayaking, fishing, biking, and hiking along the Fox River, Saw Wee Kee, and Hoover Forest Preserve
• Starting salary of $135,000-$160,000 plus production bonuses
• Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus
• 401(k) with company match
• Access to CE courses (dentistry, ultrasound, surgery, and more) at NVA’s nearby Pet One Training Center in Addison, IL
• Professional liability coverage, DEA and state licensing, and VIN membership
• PTO, paid CE, and CE/licensing reimbursement
• Final compensation commensurate with experience, skills, schedule, and scope of services provided

If you have ever pictured a life with more room to breathe, a shorter list of stressors, and a community that feels like home, this is your sign.
