SummaryThe Quality Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of products throughout the entire production process— from raw material receipt to final product release. This role ensures that all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications, and complies with regulatory requirements. The inspector plays a critical role in identifying defects, preventing non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Maintain calibration records and certificates.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed or coordinate with external vendors for service.
- Ensure timely calibration of equipment to avoid production delays or quality issues.
- Assist in the development and improvement of calibration procedures and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized calibration lab environment.
- Assist in the purchasing of measurement equipment.
- Support internal and external audits by providing calibration documentation and demonstrating compliance.
- Perform routine and non-routine calibrations on mechanical, electrical, and dimensional instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve measurement-related issues.
- Set-up Incoming Inspection Plans in Quality software.
- Inspect raw materials, components, and subassemblies upon receipt.
- Verify supplier documentation, certifications, and other items.
- Record and report non-conforming materials and initiate supplier corrective actions.
- Inspect and evaluate non-conforming materials and components.
- Conduct Containment verification on inventory Quantity.
- Prepare and maintain NCMR documentation including photos, inspection results, and records to process NCMR.
- Ensure proper documentation accompanies returned items (e.g., RMA forms, inspection reports).
- Manage RTV processes for rejected supplier materials.
- Respond to quality issues raised by operators or supervisors and assist in issue verification containment and resolution.
- Conduct capability study measurements as required.
- Verify that rework and repair activities meet quality standards before release.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to implement process improvements and corrective actions.
- Conduct Product Audits as required.
- FAI (Internal PPAP).
- Set-up FAI Plan in QMS Quality Software.
- Conduct Dimensional inspection in Software.
- Set-up In 1st Piece Inspection Plans in QMS Quality software.
- Set-up In process Inspection Plans in QMS Quality software.
- Set-up Final Inspection Plans in QMS Quality software.
- Conduction dimensional inspection requested by Engineering.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and logs.
- Document non-conformances and assist in the disposition of defective products.
- Support audits and provide inspection data as needed.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Participate in quality initiatives such as 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent; CMM technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing inspection or quality control.
- Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, or other relevant quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:$25.00 - $30.00/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
