Position: Bilingual Spanish Quality Engineer
Location: Naperville, IL
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading the Corrective Action and Nonconformance programs within an AS9100 Quality Management System. The Quality Engineer also supports internal auditing efforts, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, and provides Quality Assurance guidance across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities1. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of AS9100 QMS processes, including work instructions, process maps, FMEAs, and control plans.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities as a Quality representative.

  • Assist with document control tasks and quality-related approvals.

  • Provide guidance to operations teams on quality requirements, standards, and best practices.

2. Corrective Action & Nonconformance Management (Primary Function)
  • Lead and manage the full corrective action process.

  • Assign, monitor, and drive corrective actions through closure.

  • Work with process owners and area leads to develop effective root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions (when not a conflict of interest).

  • Prepare and maintain reports on corrective action trends, status, and risk areas.

  • Identify systemic issues and escalate as appropriate.

3. Internal Audit Support
  • Serve as a member of the internal audit team.

  • Conduct internal audits for assigned areas (excluding those where conflicts of interest may exist).

  • Assist with audit reporting and communication of audit results.

  • Support follow-up actions and verification of audit findings.

  • Help train and support internal auditors as needed.

4. Additional Duties
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support overall company operations.

Qualifications
  • College diploma in a technical or engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an AS9100 manufacturing environment; experience with special processes (coating, heat treatment, welding) preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or auditing roles.

  • Auditor training or certification preferred.

  • English required;
    Spanish is a plus.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

  • Knowledge of special processes such as coating, heat treating, welding, and spot welding.

  • Excellent analytical skills; highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for team leadership and reporting.

  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with all levels of staff.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Physical Requirements
  • 20/20 vision (corrective lenses acceptable). Periodic vision exams will be provided.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
