Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform industry and other laboratory tests using established procedures, including cleaning glassware at test completion.

Logging samples in computer, entering testing results, and sending electronic reports when testing is completed.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment including safety and housekeeping inspections.

Lab maintenance – changing out gas cylinders, filling solvent reservoirs, and taking out solvent waste.

Monitoring emergency phone, fire panel, and diesel pumps.

Provide first aid during off-shifts and emergencies.

Willingness to work overtime as needed/required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
Skills and experience in general laboratory techniques and practices

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree including laboratory courses
Analytical chemistry experience

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Computer literacy
Effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to attend to details
Ability to work as a team player
Ability to organize and set priorities; must be able to multi-task and must be able to handle stress
Able to demonstrate basic knowledge of safe laboratory practices and procedures
