Job Details General NotesThis position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
PurposeWe are a recently formed cell biology lab focused on studying the role cell morphology plays in signal transduction and in understanding the ways cells manipulate their shapes as a means of altering signaling towards specific cell fates. We are seeking an experienced lab manager to join and help shape the day-to-day operations and culture of this new laboratory.
Responsibilities- Administrative and laboratory support duties.
- Perform cell biology laboratory research.
- Train laboratory members in experimental techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology or related field, with at least two years’ experience in laboratory research.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications- More than 3 years’ experience in laboratory research
- Lab management experience
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and generation of stable cell lines via lentiviral vectors
- Experience with bacterial cell culture
- Experience with PCR and fluorescence microscopy
- Experience with molecular cloning via Gibson assembly, restriction digest, etc.
$45,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
