Full-Time City Gate Grille Server
City Gate Hospitality LLC is hiring a Full‑Time Server for the City Gate Grille. This position is non‑exempt and reports to the Restaurant Manager.

Compensation$9.00/hr + Tips, plus a $250 signing bonus (90‑day waiting period applies).
Role SummaryThis position is responsible for serving guests quickly, efficiently, and with a complete knowledge of food and beverage menus.
Responsibilities- Completes all opening, closing, and running side work.
- Attends all pre‑shift meetings.
- Serves guests’ orders promptly and according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Communicates and works closely with the kitchen staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintains a complete and up‑to‑date knowledge of all menu items, wine lists, daily additions, and beverages offered (ingredients and preparation).
- Follows safety and sanitation policies.
- Abides by all requirements pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages.
- Understands applicable emergency procedure and evacuations.
- Sets up tables according to City Gate Grille standards of service.
- Collects and reports tips at the end of the assigned shift.
- Exemplifies a service and sales mentality at all times.
- Understands and follows all cash handling rules and regulations.
- Abides by all requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service.
- BASSET or TIPPS certification preferred.
- Illinois Food Handler Certification is preferred.
- Two years or more of food service experience, preferably in a casual fine dining restaurant environment.
- Micros experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Problem‑solving abilities and ability to compute basic arithmetic.
- Flexible schedule and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill job duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs on occasion.
