Food and Beverage Specialist – Target

Role Summary – The Food & Beverage team ensures that guests enjoy a fresh, well‑stocked, accurately priced, and welcoming experience in all food & beverage areas of the store.

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing guests’ needs over tasks.
• Uphold and maintain Food & Beverage Standards.
• Execute processes such as food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, in‑stock routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing reserve product.
• Follow all food safety requirements as outlined in Target policies and procedures.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Work with vendors to set, maintain, and plan sales‑floor merchandise displays and keep the backroom organized.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to Target policies.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve experience.
• Execute all federal, state, and local adult beverage laws as they apply to the business.
• Use and care for in‑store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines.
• Maintain a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct them.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and drive‑up, while maintaining compliance.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs in a welcoming manner.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Perform all other duties as required by business needs.

• Must be at least 18 years old (Bakery only).
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammates.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment while accomplishing multiple tasks within established time frames.

• Enjoy interacting and helping others—including guests and teammates.
• Thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, and physically demanding role that requires teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving.
• Open to a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times).

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders; lift or move merchandise up to 44 lbs.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays). Reliable attendance is required.
• Work in conditions ranging from 34°F to –10°F; in spaces where allergens may be handled.
• Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
