What you can expect as a Lead Interior Technician at West Star

As a Lead your main focus will be centered on leading a team of technicians in producing timely results that are of the highest quality on aircraft interiors. This includes leading the installation, modification, repair, refurbishment and fabrication of aircraft interior components. There will also be varying amounts of parts replacement and general mechanical applications. The ability to evaluate and adjust on modifications is essential as well as training and maintaining workflow.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks. This includes using good judgement in handling day‑to‑day tasks, and knowing when to involve your manager or team leader.
  • Independently manage installations by communicating with Interior Team Leader and various other departmental staff, determining flow for completing assignments.
  • Perform quality checks, supervise and assign personnel on daily activities.
  • Perform training, coaching and mentoring of team members to develop the job knowledge and performance of install techs.
  • Prepare and deliver annual performance evaluations of assigned team members.
  • Assist with engineering on design for major modification projects.
  • Completely remove, repair and modify aircraft interior components with little or no supervision.
  • Work independently on projects when required.
  • Perform daily turnover sheets.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
  • Any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
