E Technician

Overview

This position is responsible for the predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance in supporting chemical plant operations 24/7/365. Tasks include safely troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide array of electrical distribution, instrumentation, and automated control systems. The role requires a self-starter who promotes organizational safety goals, strong work ethics, continuous improvement, and collaboration within a team.

• Competitive wages based on experience/qualifications: $29.99-$55.59/hour
• $1.50 shift differential for nights

• Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution, instrumentation, and automated control systems
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment to support plant operations
• Promote safety and environmental compliance, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Install new plant electrical distribution, instrumentation, and control systems equipment as scheduled
• Maintain accurate documentation and work orders using CMMS software
• Work with minimal supervision and communicate progress and concerns to management
• Participate in outage planning, plant cleanliness, warehouse operations, and other maintenance-related tasks
• Adhere to NFPA 70E safety standards when working with high voltage equipment
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve performance and reliability of the facility

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical certification from an accredited trade school, and/or MOS code with rating equivalency preferred
• State electrical license or certificate from a nationally recognized electrical apprenticeship program preferred

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in repairing and troubleshooting automation, instrumentation, and controls preferred
• Knowledge of electro/pneumatic valve actuators, controllers, transmitters, sensors, and instrumentation
• Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS) and Rockwell/Allen Bradley equipment is helpful
• Experience with gas chromatographs, combustion analyzers, CEMS, vibration monitors, and other online reliability monitoring systems
• Proficiency with PLCs, HMI displays, VFDs, and related control hardware
• Understanding of fieldbus protocols (e.g., Ethernet IP, Modbus, RS-232/485, HART, Profibus)
• Knowledge of electrical distribution hardware including switch gear, MCCs, relays, and transformers
• Fluent in English, both oral and written; proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to work with pumps and motors in industrial settings and operate related lifting equipment as required
