Position type:
Full-time. Job based in Illinois (not remote).
As a Crew Lead you are responsible for coordinating residential installations of each system efficiently, in a timely and quality manner. Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills are required while working on the roof.
CompensationPay Range: $29 to $35/hr plus install bonuses, benefits, and advancement opportunities.

- Supervise the entire installation project and safety on the job
- Complete installations on various roof types as well as ground mounts
- Supervise quality and efficiency of work on site
- Communicate with Roof Lead and Branch Manager on changes needed
- Mount racking, modules, and electrical equipment
- Fill out job documents and collect data/photos for each job
- Foster teamwork to improve productivity and project completion
- Drive Company vehicle to and from jobs safely; manage tools and material inventory
- Supervise and troubleshoot projects; ensure site cleanup
- May travel for extended periods; maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience
• Minimum 1+ year experience in solar installations, including at least 6 months leading a crew
• Electrical and roof racking experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Motivated, productive, detail- and safety-focused
• Ability to work safely at heights, climb ladders, and work on rooftops
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment; lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer service skills
• Regular, reliable attendance; able to work in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to work in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.)
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record
Special Skills & Training
• Proficient with power and hand tools and training others in their safe use
- Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles; stand and walk for long periods
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend; reach and twist
- Lift 50+ pounds; handle, control, or feel objects
- See details at close and far distances; differentiate colors
- Use hands for fine motor tasks; perform quick, precise adjustments
- Move multiple limbs together; maintain balance on uneven surfaces
- Maintain endurance and safety throughout long shifts
Travel may be required for business purposes; if so, a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites are needed.
