• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Sets up and operates equipment and tools such as ladders, saws, drills, grinders, and other power tools.
• Uses tape measure, rule, square, wrenches, hammers, and other hand-held tools.
• Dismantles, moves, aligns, assembles, repairs, and installs machines and equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
• Assembles machines and equipment; bolts, welds, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
• Sets up and operates oxy-fuel torches, plasma torches, and a variety of welding equipment and utilizes various cutting and welding methods.
• Welds metal components together as specified by work orders, blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, or minimal oral or written instruction.
• Moves small and medium size parts by hand while large parts can be moved by utilizing a variety of rigging, lifting, and material handling equipment such as chain falls, fork lifts, and overhead hoists and cranes.
• On occasion performs work at PMW facilities using machinery and equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, shears, form rollers, press brakes to cut, shape, fabricate, assemble, or repair machines and equipment.
