• Locating for right of way clearing
• Paint Meters or Regulator Stations
• Pipeline Marker installation and replacements
• GPS new valves and monitor meter sets
• Service History Card and other document Verification
• Monitor Excavation around critical facilities (Watch & Protect)
• General Laborer duties as assigned (e.g., flagging work on a crew, manual labor)

High School diploma or GED, required.

• Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn and use Ameren's Gas Compliance Software and related hardware.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently for extended periods in the field for long hours in all weather conditions and walk over rough terrain.
• Must be available for emergency callouts and overtime.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois Class D driver's license.
• Must receive a recommended status from CAST test.

* The pay rate will depend on the candidate's experience.

• Step 1: $23.48
• Step 2 (6 months): $24.01
• Step 3 (12 months): $24.55
• Step 4 (2 years): $25.07
• Senior Utility Maintenance Technician (2 years): $28.82

Candidates will receive a raise in July per yearly contract increase.

UMTs must establish and maintain their principal family residence within the counties of Peoria or Tazewell, or the surrounding counties. Candidates accepting a position in the UMT classification cannot bid/transfer out of the department for two (2) years from the start date.

Successfully complete all provided Ameren Illinois Locator qualification training for the position.

This position is covered by the IBEW bargaining agreement.

• Grade Step BW 147 Step 3 of 4 – $25.29
• Grade Step BW 147 Step 4 of 4 (Top Step) – $25.82
