Job Summary

Our client, a leading food production and meat processing company, is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician for a contract position at its facility in Hampshire, IL. The Maintenance Technician will support ongoing facility and equipment operations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general upkeep to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Grease bearings, replace conveyor belts, clear equipment jams, and complete general mechanical repairs.
- Troubleshoot and assist in repairing mechanical systems, sensors, and related equipment.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and load balancing as needed.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools proficiently and safely.
- Support facility upkeep and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Perform work at heights using elevated work platforms as required.

Required Qualifications

- Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including 480V, 277V, 3-phase systems and 220V, 120V single-phase systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work at heights on elevated work platforms.
- Dependable, coachable, and motivated with a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience performing preventative and routine maintenance in a production or industrial environment.

- Experience with conveyor belt replacement, bearing greasing, and general mechanical repairs.
- Electrical troubleshooting and load balancing experience.

About the Role

- Contract Duration:
Approximately 1,040 hours (about 6 months), with potential for extension based on business needs.

- Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend availability may occasionally be required; flexibility is preferred.

- Location:

Hampshire, IL 60140 (on-site).
- Travel:
No travel required (0%).

- Hours:

40 hours per week.
