Android Developer

We are looking for an Android developer to help build innovative Android apps that integrate with our services platform. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Android design and development, with at least one app published on the Google Play Store. Beyond technical skills, we seek someone who can adapt to diverse and changing requirements and translate them into actionable plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performing, reusable, and reliable Java code.
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Design and develop advanced applications for Android.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new features.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Write unit tests to ensure robustness, including edge cases and usability.
• Improve application performance through bug fixing and optimizations.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, different Android versions, and screen sizes.
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android apps to backend services.
• Understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Ability to design apps around natural user interfaces like touch.
• Familiarity with sensors such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and libraries.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
• Skills in benchmarking and optimization.
• Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.
• Proficiency with version control tools like Git.
• Experience with continuous integration.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in Android app development, with at least one published app.
• Experience with Android SDK, REST, and JSON.
• Knowledge of third-party libraries and APIs.
• Understanding of mobile architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Solid grasp of the entire mobile development lifecycle.
