Position Title Official Game Scorekeeper Job Summary

The position of Official Game Scorekeeper is in the Athletics Department. This individual would keep official scorebook for various athletic matches and home games on Kishwaukee College campus. Events typically start mid to late afternoons and early evenings and run about two (2) hours in duration each game. Official Game Scorekeeper will also have to interact with Kishwaukee coaching staffs, referees/officials, student athletes and opposing team coaches and players.

Season is from mid-August through to early November each year as well as from early October until mid-March each year. Games are typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the week as well as some Saturdays. Other days of the week do occur on occasion.

• Demonstrated knowledge of athletics, sports rules of the sport working
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees and the public
• Skill in working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, strong math skills.

• Some previous relevant scorekeeping experience at high school or college level.

• Some experience as a former student athlete in college for basketball and/or volleyball or previous relevant experience

• Work may include lifting some electronic equipment no more than 5-10 pounds
• Work is conducted in a loud indoor gymnasium environment
• This position requires some physical activity and movement but also requires sitting at a scorer’s table for hours at a time
