OverviewSafely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.
Responsibilities- Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as local, state and federal regulations and company expectations; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using DVIR; notes issues for corrective review/repair.
- Immediately reports unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
- Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
- Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify unsafe accounts.
- Performs duties as scheduled, assisting other drivers as directed.
- Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notifies Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues per Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers or missed pickups.
- Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
- Completes dumps and leaves customer locations clean and free of debris.
- Positions containers properly and ensures lids are replaced and driveways remain clear.
- Follows route assignments and completes documentation at check-in and end of route.
- Education:
None required. - Experience:
No prior work experience required. - Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B required; applicant must be 18 years of age.
- Pre-employment
DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and motor vehicle record review required. - Acceptable driving record required.
The expected base pay range is presented as a good faith estimate and may vary based on experience, education, training, certifications, and location.
