Gate Station Attendant Level I

Location: Mt. Sterling, IL.

Department: Dot Transportation Inc.

Reports To: Asst. Transportation Manager.

Hourly Wage: $15.59 - $21.10 per hour plus $1.50 differential.

As a Gate Station Attendant Level I, you will be responsible for controlling, inspecting, recording and tracking inbound and outbound customer and vendor truck traffic.

• Inspect & record inbound vehicle data.
• Verify correct load & temperature settings.
• Use Yard Management systems.
• Process company driver check‑in paperwork.
• Notify safety department of safety or security accidents, incidents, or violations.
• Assist with custom haul load and paperwork tracking.
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

• College degree (associate or bachelor).
• Prior transportation knowledge.
• Experience communicating positively and effectively with internal and external customers.

• Schedule:
  
  Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm‑1 am.
• Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Independent work that is often unsupervised.
