Location: Mt. Sterling, IL.
Department: Dot Transportation Inc.
Reports To: Asst. Transportation Manager.
Hourly Wage: $15.59 - $21.10 per hour plus $1.50 differential.
As a Gate Station Attendant Level I, you will be responsible for controlling, inspecting, recording and tracking inbound and outbound customer and vendor truck traffic.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Inspect & record inbound vehicle data.
- Verify correct load & temperature settings.
- Use Yard Management systems.
- Process company driver check‑in paperwork.
- Notify safety department of safety or security accidents, incidents, or violations.
- Assist with custom haul load and paperwork tracking.
- Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- College degree (associate or bachelor).
- Prior transportation knowledge.
- Experience communicating positively and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm‑1 am. - Indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Independent work that is often unsupervised.
