Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a market-leading owner-operator in the power generation sector, actively seeking a Planning Engineer to join their Portfolio Engineering team covering their portfolio of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine facilities across the UK.

Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Group Manager, you will take the lead in planning and executing a diverse range of projects, ensuring all key performance indicators (KPIs)-including safety, schedule, financial, and quality assurance-are consistently met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact to ensure compliance with the Outage Best Practice Document, achieving all defined milestone targets.
- Liaise effectively with site outage managers and key representatives from support functions, including Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Finance, and Performance teams.
- Provide regular KPI reporting to all key stakeholders using standardized reporting formats.
- Collaborate closely with major contract partners to ensure project schedules accurately reflect the scope of work and integrate seamlessly with overall project programs.
- Oversee ad hoc and emergen projects, ensuring they meet all standard planning requirements and are delivered safely and efficiently, even under time or resource pressures.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Large Rotating Plant and/or Heat Recovery Steam Generator Pressure System in large Industrial processes (Power Generation desirable)
- Expert knowledge in project execution (from planning stages to hand over and contract completion)
- Must be educated to minimum HNC standard, with degree desired within an Engineering biased discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. health & safety, CDM and environmental requirements
- Excellent knowledge of budget forecasting, financial reporting and control.
- Excellent knowledge of contract management
- Excellent knowledge of quality systems and processes that are essential to large scale Power Generation Projects.
- Solid understanding of work planning tools and the work control process
- Good working knowledge of the Generation Safety Rules
- Good working knowledge of business IT systems (including MS Office, Maximo and SAI 360, but importantly MS Project or Primavera).
