Job Description

The Decommissioning Lead Provides overall leadership, governance, and delivery accountability for the Prax LOR decommissioning programme, ensuring the site is maintained in a safe state, safety‑critical decommissioning activities are prioritised by risk, and decommissioned units / interzonal pipelines are progressed through clearance and handover certification while supporting the broader “future use readiness / preservation”.

Core Responsibilities

* Own and drive the decommissioning priorities, including continuing safety‑critical decommissioning prioritised based on risk, progressing cross‑area (interzonal) line decommissioning based on risk, and supporting utility system rationalisation where required.

* Ensure units are maintained in preservation where required for potential reuse, aligned to the stated objective to leave process units in a safe state and in preservation for future use cases.

* Lead on all safety and environmental activities during decommissioning execution, ensuring full compliance with site standards and procedures, and ensuring high work standards across teams and contractors.

* Ensure decommissioning work is executed in line with defined safe opening / clearance criteria and risk controls (e.g., criteria for safe opening, battery limit blinds, removal of pyrophoric risks).

* Provide leadership and coordination for a decommissioning planning and delivery team, ensuring safe, efficient, timely execution of the decommissioning plan and approved variations.

* Act as focal point for coordination of planned decommissioning activities and maintain open and effective communications with site leadership teams.

* Build an effective decommissioning team and continuously monitor capability, implementing necessary developmental actions.

* Set clear expectations, enforce standards, and coordinate work across staff and contractor groups

* Accountable for facilitation and maintenance of the decommissioning plan and annual budget management for the decommissioning programme.

* Accountable for prioritisation and execution governance of the following decommissioning work streams

* Removal of pyrophoric risks and works that support these activities.

* Catalyst removal works.

* Inter zonal pipeline clearance works.

* Implementation of operational and environmental procedures during execution of decommissioning work.

* Own the handover certification process for decommissioned units/plant/pipelines

* Ensure decommissioning outputs align to the “safe state” requirements reflected in transition/APA preparation materials

Education Requirements/Key Skills

* Demonstrated leadership ability to build an aligned team, provide direction, and drive critical operating tasks to achieve results.

* Strong working knowledge of safe execution expectations and discipline to maintain compliance with procedures and standards during field execution.
