Liaise with operational and other key stakeholders to plan maintenance activities, maximise equipment availability and minimise disruption to operations.

Develop and introduce policies, procedures and working practices that improve cost control, efficiency, quality and safety within the engineering department.

Take part in and lead large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to drive operational success.

Manage related departmental administration, workshop records and stores procedures.

Support the training and development of apprentices and the ongoing development and competence of employees.

Carry out quality and workshop checks, manage inductions and ensure effective control of contractors.

Maintain a flexible, dynamic and proactive approach to meet changing operational demands.

Use a range of bespoke IT programs and business systems as required.

Your profile

You have an HND or higher in mechanical engineering or electromechanics or equivalent demonstrable engineering experience.

Proven experience leading and managing technicians or engineers within a busy workshop, maintenance or operational engineering environment.

Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to lead teams and work effectively with operational stakeholders.

You preferably have experience with welding and electrics (to a lesser extent) to support your team.

It is important that you have a good work ethic with good organisational skills and a positive approach to working safely.
