HGV 1 Driver Trainer

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver Trainer to join our team, with a strong focus on fuel consumption improvement, driver scores, and driving standards. This role is key to improving efficiency, safety, and overall driver performance across our fleet.

• Deliver practical based driver training focused on fuel-efficient driving techniques alongside driving scores.
• Coach drivers to improve driver performance scores using PPC
• Carry out on-road driver assessments and ride-alongs
• Analyse fuel usage, driving behaviour, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities
• Provide clear, constructive feedback and action plans to drivers
• Support new driver inductions and ongoing refresher training
• Promote safe, compliant, and economical driving at all times
• Work closely with transport management to improve fleet efficiency
• Maintain accurate training and assessment records

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Proven experience as an HGV driver
• Previous experience in driver training, coaching, or mentoring is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of fuel-efficient driving techniques
• Experience using telematics systems and driver performance scoring
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Ability to positively influence driver behaviour and standards
• Strong knowledge of tachograph, drivers’ hours, and road safety compliance
• Fluent in both English and Romanian, with the ability to deliver training, coaching, and written feedback in both languages to effectively support our diverse driver workforce

• Driver CPC qualification (Trainer or Instructor modules an advantage)
