Effective July 1, 2025, this is a limited term position that may be extended or become permanent. The position is part‑time, working 12 hours per week, with a monthly salary range of $8,003.10 to $8,892.
Base Pay Range$8,003.10 (P) – $8,892 (R) per month.
Job DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physician & Surgeon, CF (Internal Medicine / Family Practice) provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform medical assessments and provide medical treatment to assigned patients as appropriate and as authorized by the medical license.
- Provide clinical consultation to mid‑level providers and other staff.
- Instruct nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adhere to professional medical standards of care.
- Perform on‑call duties as assigned.
- Legal qualifications to practice medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Valid internal medicine or family medicine medical or osteopathic specialty certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board, or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
