Overview OfThe Role
As the Senior Project Engineer for our Heavy Civil Projects, you will work on projects for government, state, military, and private clients. The role ensures safe, efficient execution in compliance with specifications, upholding AIS Infrastructure’s quality, customer satisfaction, and safety culture.
Your OpportunityThe AIS West Project Team needs Project Engineers, Office Engineers, and Field Engineers. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will focus on roadways and drainage along the U.S.–Mexico border (Texas, California, Arizona), with projects launching Q1 2026 and lasting roughly 3 years.
Your Work Will Include- Assist in developing and implementing project plans (scope, budget, schedule).
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and project requirement assessments.
- Review detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.
- Prepare project work plans, element, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage engineering assignments and activities in alignment with company, contract, and schedule requirements.
- Provide technical support in construction planning, quality control, design interpretation, application of construction methods, resolution of design conflicts, and constructability reviews.
- Develop and maintain job reporting, including quality control reports and logs, to ensure project compliance.
- At least five years of experience in the Heavy Civil Construction industry.
- Proficiency with quantity take-off systems and Primavera Scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Construction experience combined with an engineering degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for access to secured facilities.
