Position Summary
:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Gender, Adolescent Transitions and Environment (GATE) program in the Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health, the Associate Director of Research provides oversight, research and technical support for multiple program activities including research operations, the management of projects globally and in the USA, partnership building and fundraising.

The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in public health, and 6 – 10+ years of applied practical background in the field of public health research and practice, preferably with global experience. The incumbent will have a good understanding of global health priorities and will be looking for opportunities aligned with our areas of work, including menstrual health and hygiene, education, gender, water, and sanitation.

GATE is an innovative research and practice program dedicated towards improving the lives of adolescents and women around the world. We are looking for an individual who brings a qualitative research background, an aptitude for managing and mentoring staff and students, and who is looking for an opportunity that is aligned with our areas of work, including global mixed-methods research on puberty, menstrual health and hygiene, and gender and sanitation.

Our topical focus of work spans from low-resource settings and communities to humanitarian contexts.
