Responsibilities Include:
Conduct developmentally appropriate bio-psychosocial evaluations for children, adolescents, and families, interpreting clinical and laboratory findings to inform individualized treatment plans.
Provide virtual psychotherapy and counseling using evidence-based modalities tailored for youth and families (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, PCIT, family systems therapy).Support families navigating military-specific stressors, such as deployment transitions, relocation, parental separation, and reintegration.
Develop and implement family-inclusive treatment plans that strengthen communication, attachment, and emotional regulation within the home.
Conduct parent coaching sessions and family consultations to promote resilience, parenting effectiveness, and child well-being.
Collaborate with pediatricians, primary care providers, school liaisons, social workers, and military leadership to coordinate wraparound care and ensure patient safety.
Participate in fitness-for-duty assessments, MEBs, TDRL evaluations, and psychological autopsies when family dynamics or dependent well-being are relevant to the service member’s evaluation.
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and military standards (SOPs), ensuring progress notes are updated within 72 hours or by COB for high-acuity cases.
Educate patients and families on TRICARE and DoD behavioral health processes and available family support resources.
Contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives that promote best practices in child and family mental health care.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned Clinical Psychologist – Child, Adolescent, and Family Services Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., Psy.
D., or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with emphasis in child, adolescent, or family psychology preferred.
Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience providing virtual or in-person psychological services to children, adolescents, or families; experience in the Military Health System strongly preferred.
Current, active, unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in a U.S. state or territory.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Must obtain and maintain appropriate clinical privileges and credentialing in accordance with MHS standards.
Must successfully pass all pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies for youth and families (e.g., CBT, DBT, family systems, attachment-based interventions).Familiarity with military family dynamics, resilience frameworks, and trauma-informed care principles.
