Due to internal promotion, HILAC is currently seeking the services of a Lifeguard to join our team on a permanent part time basis. This may be extended past the date advertised.

Lifeguards provide a key contribution to the operation of the Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC), and Council’s outdoor pools. The lifeguard is responsible for the supervision, safety, cleaning, and operation of these swimming pools.

Lifeguards are responsible to provide specialist surveillance, advice, supervision, safety, first aid and rescue services to pool patrons (proactive and reactive) to educate and prevent loss of life by drowning and/or injury to the public. Attendance at regular professional development sessions and ability to communicate with in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of Council are key to this role.

This position is for 33 hours per fortnight with hours rostered between 5:30am - 11:30am Monday to Friday.

Existing pool lifeguard and first aid qualifications are preferred, however training is available for suitable candidate.
