Job SummaryCenterpoint Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Certified Lymphedema Specialist PRN. The primary responsibility is to deliver medically prescribed Lymphedema therapy programs in accordance with national standards and hospital policies. The role focuses on restoring function and preventing disability for patients following disease, injury, surgery, or loss of a body part.
Responsibilities- Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and participate in patient placement and development of the overall care plan.
- Apply procedures and techniques to produce changes in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.
- Observe and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in condition.
- Communicate pertinent payer requirements to the treatment team, patient and family in a timely manner.
- Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments and handoffs.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) or Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Lymphedema Specialist certification required.
- One year of occupational therapy experience prior to obtaining Lymphedema certification.
