Position: Manufacturing Technician with Winchester

NOW OFFERING - $1000 hiring bonus

Title: Manufacturing Technician with Winchester

Location: Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, MO

Starting Pay: Hourly rates range from $27.51/hour up to $29.30/hour. Additional pay increases with successful in‑house training and certification completions.

Schedule: 36/48 split; 12 hr shifts or 4‑10s. Nights, weekend days, weekend nights (depending on availability and department).

Focus: Performs advanced mechanical adjustments, repairs and troubleshoots high-speed automated production equipment.

Manufacturing Technician Essential Job Functions
  • Operates and performs advanced adjustments, diagnostic, preventative and emergency electronic/mechanical maintenance on automated high-speed ammunition manufacturing equipment.
  • Operates equipment with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen panel.
  • Troubleshoots, adjusts and calibrates as necessary to obtain specified operating conditions; may include turning valves, switches, moving and setting controls, adjusting furnaces, and pumps.
  • Inspects products using a variety of gages, complete hardness testing, chemical checks, and other quality checks as needed to assist the manufacturing process.
  • Performs root cause analysis for productions, quality, and safety issues.
  • Prepares detailed records and reports such as inventory, receiving, operating, and lab analysis.
  • Operates heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts.
Manufacturing Technician

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of control systems with experience in advanced mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must be proficient with basic hand and power tools and measuring devices. Advanced automotive diagnostics and repairs experience or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, etc. preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret detailed prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overhead, twist, and bend at waist, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift, carry and push up to 400 pounds by way of team lifts and use of support device (hand carts, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.).
  • Must have full vision, including color vision.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime.
Location‑Specific Requirements
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the government‑facility requirements, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Eligibility for the hiring bonus includes successful employment and probationary period of 90 days ($500) and 180 days ($500) for payout.
