Outreach Youth and Young Adult Minister (Minnesota, USA)

Join the Community of Christ to lead invitation-focused programs for children, youth, and young adults. This position is based in Apple Valley, Minnesota, with 20 hours weekly on site and an additional 5 hours weekly mentoring youth leaders across Headwaters USA Mission Center congregations.

The Outreach Youth and Young Adult Minister will develop and further invitation-oriented youth and young adult programs. Responsibilities include facilitating ministries that engage children, youth, and young adults in congregational and mission center life by developing disciples to serve. The role requires 20 hours at the Apple Valley congregation and 5 hours mentoring other congregational leaders.

• Nurture new seekers and disciples through consistent structured programming for children and youth (ages 6–18) and young adults (ages 18–35).
• Work with volunteer leaders to discern, define, and develop invitation-oriented ministries.
• Expand participation and deepen discipleship among existing members and new outreach targets.
• Prioritize spiritual and relational needs while modeling invitational ministry.
• Plan Apple Valley congregational activities such as retreats and regular youth/young adult groups.
• Develop authentic outreach plans that are relationship‑driven rather than proselytizing.
• Lead coordination and collaborate with volunteers on all ministry aspects, including mentoring new leaders and identifying growth areas.
• Under mission center guidance, work with 2–4 Headwaters congregations to design, launch, and sustain volunteer‑driven local youth programs.

High school diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 1–3 years of program leadership experience developing, implementing, and sustaining vibrant youth (ages 6–17) or young adult (ages 18–35) programs at the congregational or mission center level.

• Registered Youth Worker or ability to register within 30 days of hire.
• Anti‑harassment training required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Non‑exempt, 20+ hours per week. Must mentor youth program leaders and lead local ministries.
