Unit Specifics:

Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 PM or 1:4AM, 1:5PM (with patient care techs)
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability):
Typically, total RN based care with no techs. Secretaries are scheduled 7am-7pm in the PCU and are available for a number of resources.
Type of equipment:
BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
Documentation system:
Meditech
Scheduling requirements: FT Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PT staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PRN 1 Staff: 3 shifts in a 4-week period with 1 weekend shift requirement, PRN 2 Staff: 6 shifts in a 4-week period with 3 weekend shift requirements. Rotating holiday schedule.
Floating policy: PRN floats 1 time per week, FT/PT staff floats in a rotation based upon dates, bonus shifts always float first
Patient Experience requirements:
Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds.

Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms.
