• Packs, labels, pulls, and stores plants according to variety.
• Performs general maintenance of field‑grown plants.
• Handles nursery stock and maintains holding yards and shipping areas.
• Plants, cultivates, and maintains plants for shipping and resale.
• Pots seedlings, prunes, spaces, irrigates, and culls plants to ensure availability of marketable products.
• Prepares fields for planting by clearing cull stock, brush, and debris.
• Propagates plants from cuttings; plants cuttings, seedlings, or liners by hand or mechanical planter.
• Digs, loads, unloads, or transplants bare‑root nursery stock; straightens, ties, stakes, prunes, and shears trees and shrubs.
• Cuts, pulls, or removes and mows weeds or grass by the root, not at ground level.
• Assists with irrigation, topsoil and mulch spreading, and watering in nurseries and holding houses.
• Sprays herbicides and insecticides, applies fertilizer, and hand‑hoes around nursery stock.
• Handles mechanical equipment such as power shears, chainsaws, lifts, forklifts, skid loaders, and tractors.
• Operates agricultural equipment and works on their feet for long periods of time in bent positions.
• Performs work in all weather conditions, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 100 °F.
• Remains alcohol and drug free while on duty; may not work under influence.
• Uses provided vehicles (van, SUV, pick‑up truck) responsibly and may drive on public roads.
