The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant assists the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the vitamin and body care departments.
Responsibilities- Providing world‑class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority daily.
- Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies.
- Creating inviting, full, and shopable departments.
- Assisting managers in ordering, inventory, margin, sales, and profitability—minimizing shrink and maximizing effective purchasing.
- Ensuring all in‑stock products meet company standards and offering special orders.
- Merchandising shelves, endcaps and dynamic displays.
- Managing tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock.
- Assisting in training, monitoring, and task delegation of department personnel.
- Conducting active and passive demos.
- Addressing performance issues within the department.
- Supporting store opening/closing activities, including Daily Sales Report, cash handling, cashier closeout, and register functions.
- Maintaining safety and security for customers and employees.
- Answering customer questions per company standards and policies.
- Continuously increasing product knowledge.
- Using SAP, inventory management software, email, and other IS programs.
- Working a schedule based on store needs—evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires 40 hrs per week and mandatory store meetings.
- Working as a supportive member of the team rather than overall Manager on Duty.
- Performing additional duties as requested.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
- Preferential 1 year of grocery or retail experience; natural foods background a plus.
- Preferential 1 year supervising others and 1 year in vitamins/supplements.
- Ability to pass food safety training courses/certifications as required by law.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and focus on tasks.
- Sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills, and strong organizational attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction and follow through.
- Cashier trained and able to count currency.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
