We are seeking an experienced Roadway Design Engineer – Project Manager in our Cleveland, Ohio office.
Annual Compensation
: $95,000 – $185,000 based on experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

- Responsible for scope, fees, and profitability of individual projects as well as a portfolio of projects.
- Act as point person and firm contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
- Assist in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
- Guide and coordinate all internal LJB transportation disciplines, sub‑consultants, and clients.
- Have a basic understanding of the other transportation disciplines and what they require.
- Manage the nine PMI knowledge areas for each project phase, including:
- Project Integration Management
- Project Scope Management
- Project Time Management
- Project Cost Management
- Project Quality Management
- Project Human Resource Management
- Project Communications Management
- Project Risk Management
- Project Procurement Management
- Assist Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.
- On larger projects, may or may not be directly involved in the design.
- Report employee performance on projects to the Deputy Operations Manager.
- Provide information to the Deputy Operations Manager on future projects to aid staffing decisions.
- Assist in informal development of other employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- P.E. license required;
North Carolina PE preferred. Successful candidates are expected to obtain NC PE within the first year of hire.
- At least 10 years of consulting or engineering experience; 5 years of project management experience preferred.
- Experience working on DOT design projects required; experience with multiple DOTs is a plus.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM and Project Management software preferred.
- Experience with Micro Station, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil‑3D software preferred.
