Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager

Within our Transportation Practice

We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Cleveland, Ohio office.

Annual Compensation: $95,000 – 185,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

• Responsible for management, scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects and project portfolio.
• Act as point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
• Assist in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
• Guide and coordinate internal LJB transportation disciplines with sub‑consultants and clients.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Have an understanding of all transportation disciplines and requirements as related to bridge design projects.
• Assist Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.
• On larger projects, may or may not be involved directly in the design.
• Inform Operations Management of employee performance on projects.
• Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects to aid staffing decisions.
• Assist in informal development of other employees.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required; M.S. degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
• P.E. license required.
• Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.

• At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
• Experience working with DOTs required.
• Project team leadership experience.
• Project and client management experience.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills required.
• Experience with Micro Station, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil‑3D software is preferred.
