Contract Rate:
Up to $55 per hour

Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure software releases are stable, reliable, and aligned to business needs. This role blends both manual and automated testing. You will partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and developers to build test coverage, execute testing across releases, and drive defects through resolution. This position supports projects of varying size and contributes to continuous QA process improvement.

• Create, organize, and execute manual test cases for new and existing features
• Design test scenarios based on requirements, workflows, and edge cases
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing support
• Execute production validation and post deployment testing as needed
• Document test results, reproduce issues, and clearly communicate findings

• Develop, maintain, and expand automated test coverage for critical workflows
• Identify candidates for automation within the regression suite and new feature testing
• Run automated tests in support of sprint work and release cycles
• Troubleshoot failing tests and partner with developers to resolve issues
• Contribute to an overall automation approach that balances speed, stability, and maintainability
• Log, track, and retest defects through resolution
• Partner with developers to validate fixes and confirm root cause details
• Maintain clean QA documentation around defects, test evidence, and release readiness
• Build and maintain test plans, test case libraries, and automated and manual regression suites
• Identify gaps in requirements or acceptance criteria and raise them early
• Improve QA templates, testing standards, and repeatable processes across the team
• Participate in sprint ceremonies as the voice of quality, risk, and readiness

• Use Azure Dev Ops to manage bugs, test work items, and sprint related QA tasks
• Work with business and technical partners to clarify expected behavior and acceptance criteria
• Translate test outcomes into clear language for nontechnical stakeholders when needed

• Ability to write simple to complex SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with black box, grey box, and white box testing approaches
• Experience with Beyond Compare and Visio for analysis and supporting documentation
• Ability to mentor junior team members on testing practices and automation patterns
