As our Lead Data Scientist, you will act as an internal business consultant to help optimize every facet of the organization. You will solve problems and answer questions – using data – for other departments to help reduce costs, reduce errors, and be a better organization for our 17 million members.

• Help solve business problems presented by stakeholders using data such as reducing cycle times, pulling and analyzing data, determining patterns, trends, and statistical significance.
• Pull data from SQL databases and analyze/interpret data using Python, R, or other tools. Visualize results with Tableau.
• Collaborate with a data engineer to present findings to stakeholders, confirm or refute hypotheses, and implement or evolve solutions. Remote but must attend regular collaboration days at the Independence, OH office.

• Solid foundation in statistics and data analysis with experience pulling data, analyzing, identifying trends or patterns, determining significance, and delivering insights or recommendations to business. Must be able to describe a project approach, tools used, root‑cause identification, and hypothesis confirmation.
• Proficient in SQL and at least one of Python or R for data curation and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and flexibility to pivot and explain changes or delays to stakeholders.
• Experience working with Agile teams: daily stand‑ups, sprints, and meeting frequent deployment deadlines.
