Founded in 1991, we represent creditors in consumer and commercial recovery and litigation across the United States. Our headquarters are in Andover, Massachusetts, with office locations throughout the country.

We are presently seeking a Managing Attorney to join our team in Independence, OH. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who motivates people and manages processes. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities are required. The role demands high motivation, self‑stimulation, detail orientation, and strong spreadsheet skills for data organization and analysis.

The base salary for this position is $130,000 – $140,000 per year, plus applicable bonus.

Responsibilities Of a Managing Attorney Include
  • Manage assigned portfolio of accounts to achieve client goals and protect client and firm interests effectively
  • Implement, manage, and improve litigation processes within the framework identified by executive management to achieve all goals most efficiently
  • Interview, supervise, train, and assign duties and responsibilities to the litigation staff
  • Liaise with Litigation Operations and Audit departments to ensure compliance with client expectations, firm policies, and local/state regulations, and remediate and resolve any identified compliance issues
  • Train associate attorneys and staff on operating procedures and processes
  • Enforce production and performance expectations for all staff and attorneys at the site
  • Review and execute legal pleadings, motions, etc.
  • Send and respond to correspondence from opposing counsel, pro se parties, corporate office, litigation members, and courts
  • Zealously advocate for client interests in motion practice hearings and trials, in person and telephonically when permitted
  • Draft specific pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Ensure appropriate account and case documentation, including document retention via RMS notes, status case files, and electronic storage, in compliance with State Bar requirements, Court Rules, and firm standards; comply with all applicable standard operating procedures as directed by executive management
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Ohio
  • Minimum five years of civil litigation experience in a high‑volume environment
  • Debt collections experience (strongly preferred)
  • Previous management experience (strongly preferred)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Strong commitment to ethics and compliance standards
  • Collaborative team player
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to read and comprehend position‑specific documents and correspondence, which at times may be voluminous
  • Ability to regularly interact and communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
  • Complete a minimum of a 40‑hour flexible workweek schedule
Physical Qualifications
  • Lift five pounds or greater
  • Sit 90% of the workday at times
  • Bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
  • Concentrate and use critical thinking
