Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pathologist role based in Nagina. The Pathologist will be responsible for examining tissue, blood, and other body fluids to provide accurate diagnoses that guide clinical decision-making. Daily tasks include reviewing histopathology slides, performing cytology and hematology evaluations, validating laboratory results, and signing out reports in a timely manner. The role involves close collaboration with clinicians to discuss complex cases, correlate clinical and laboratory findings, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings as needed.
The Pathologist will also oversee quality control processes in the laboratory, ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and support the implementation of evidence-based diagnostic protocols. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring laboratory staff, helping with protocol development, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the pathology and laboratory departments.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Pathology with the ability to interpret histopathology, cytology, and hematology findings accurately.
Clinical knowledge in Medicine to correlate laboratory results with patient history and clinical presentations.
Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Laboratory Medicine , including quality control, lab safety, and use of diagnostic equipment.
Experience in Histology , including tissue processing, slide evaluation, and reporting of benign and malignant conditions.
Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Pathology (MD/DNB or equivalent), with valid registration as per local regulatory requirements.
Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, laboratory technologists, and nursing staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commitment to delivering accurate and timely reports.
Good communication skills in English and local language, with the ability to explain diagnostic findings clearly to medical teams.
Willingness to participate in continuing medical education, internal audits, and quality improvement activities.
