Chandigarh University is seeking an enterprising academic leader to serve as Dean – Co-Curricular & Skill Development . This executive role is responsible for architecting a sophisticated, university-wide ecosystem that transforms informal learning into a structured pillar of institutional excellence. The Dean will bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world impact, ensuring student development is aligned with global quality benchmarks and national educational goals.
Key Strategic Pillars
Policy & Framework Design: Lead the creation of a university-wide policy to institutionalize skill-building, ensuring all non-academic pathways meet rigorous quality and accreditation standards.
Global Excellence Pathways: Establish structured mentorship pipelines that empower students to excel in high-level international competitions, exhibitions, and innovation challenges.
Multidisciplinary Integration: Oversee a diverse network of professional societies, thematic clusters, and cross-functional communities across Engineering, Management, and the Liberal Arts.
Creditization of Learning: Collaborate with Academic Affairs to map informal learning to formal credit frameworks, using structured rubrics to validate skill acquisition.
Ecosystem Analytics: Implement data-driven dashboards to track institutional performance, student achievements, and global talent benchmarking.
Flagship Showcases: Direct large-scale institutional festivals and exhibitions that position the university as a leader in innovation and holistic talent development.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Ph.D. or Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Management, or Liberal Arts).
Leadership: Minimum 10-12+ years of academic/administrative experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing student ecosystems or innovation hubs.
Competencies:
Proven success in mentoring talent for elite national/international platforms and deep knowledge of global accreditation and performance models.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational leadership, stakeholder management, and a strategic mindset for resource mobilization.
