Assistant Professor- Business Analyst

Location: Mohali

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Delivery
Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures on core subjects such as Predictive Analytics, Data Visualization, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, and Domain-Specific Analytics (Marketing, HR, Finance).
Facilitate hands-on training sessions in dedicated Data Analytics labs using live datasets and case studies.
Design, develop, and regularly update course modules, lesson plans, and assessments to keep pace with emerging industry trends.
2. Technical Instruction
Instruct and train students on essential industry tools and programming languages, including  Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Advanced Excel .
Introduce students to advanced platforms and Big Data ecosystems where applicable (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Spark, or IBM-specific tools like Cognos and Planning Analytics).
Guide students in applying statistical methods and basic machine learning to solve practical business problems.
3. Research & Academic Contributions
Actively engage in academic research and publish papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/Web of Science indexed).
Supervise and guide students through their capstone projects, dissertations, and research paper publications.
Participate actively in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), webinars, and international conferences to stay updated with global advancements.
4. Mentoring & Departmental Duties
Provide academic coaching, career mentorship, and personalized support to students.
Assist the department in administrative tasks, curriculum design, and coordinating industry-academia tie-ups.
Encourage and mentor students for participation in data hackathons, business quizzes, and national-level competitions.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background:  A Master’s degree (MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc., or equivalent) with a specialization in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely allied field, backed by a strong academic record (First Class).
Ph.D. Requirement:  A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is highly preferred. Candidates currently pursuing their Ph.D. are also widely considered for Assistant Professor roles.

Certifications:

UGC-NET qualification is highly preferred as per standard Indian higher-education norms.

Experience:

A blend of teaching experience in higher education and/or corporate industry experience working directly as a Business/Data Analyst is highly valued.
