Role Description This is a full-time, on-site High School Science Teacher role for Akal Academy Baru Sahib based in Himachal Pradesh. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging science lessons, with a focus on Physics and Environmental Science, aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, conducting laboratory activities or demonstrations where appropriate, assigning and evaluating homework and assessments, and providing timely feedback to learners.
The teacher will maintain accurate records of student progress, collaborate with other staff on curriculum development and school initiatives, and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and parent interactions. The role also involves fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic achievement and value-based education.
Qualifications
- Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills, with the ability to design structured, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Subject-matter expertise in Physics and Environmental Science, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and relate them to real-world applications.
- Effective communication skills, including clear classroom instruction, constructive feedback to learners, and collaborative communication with colleagues and families.
- Recognized teaching qualification or certification in Science education, and a bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Classroom management abilities and experience working with high school learners in a school setting.
- Commitment to value-based education, inclusivity, and the holistic development of students.
- Familiarity with educational technology and basic computer skills for lesson preparation, assessment, and reporting.
- Willingness to participate in school events, professional development programs, and co-curricular activities.
