About the Role

The Assistant Professor of Sociology will be responsible for teaching, research, academic leadership, and service activities in the discipline of Political Science. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, mentoring students and faculty, and contributing to the academic growth and reputation of the university.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Development:
Deliver lectures, conduct seminars, and manage laboratory sessions for students.
Develop course materials, curricula, and innovative teaching methods.
Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and presentations.
Research and Scholarly Activity:
Conduct original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed academic journals.
Apply for research grants and secure funding.
Present research papers at conferences and seminars.
Mentorship and Student Support:
Mentor, advise, and counsel students on academic progress and career development.
Supervise student projects, theses, and practical training.
Service and Administration:
Participate in departmental and university committees (e.g., hiring, policy development).
Participate in examination duties, including paper setting and invigilation.
Contribute to departmental administration and organization of events.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Social Work/ Sociology discipline from a recognized university
A distinguished academic record with minimum experience of 4 years
Strong record of research publications in reputed journals
Experience in teaching at postgraduate and doctoral levels

Experience with NGO and related field work.

Required Skills

Strong subject knowledge in Social Work/ Sociology or related areas
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Research orientation and grant-writing capability
Leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with outcome-based education and academic technology
