Additionally, Saksham plays a significant role in projects like Smart Cane, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for blind individuals through innovation and collaboration with welfare organizations.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Special Education Teacher based in Rohru, Shimla.  The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering individualized education programs to middle school students with visual impairment and multiple disabilities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting assessments, developing custom lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies tailored to variations in student needs, maintaining communication with families, and collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications
Experience and knowledge in working with students with disabilities, particularly visual impairment or multiple disabilities.
Strong teaching skills, particularly for middle school students, with the ability to adapt pedagogy to meet diverse learning needs.
Special Education certification or equivalent relevant experience in adaptive education practices.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (a master's degree or additional certifications in special education are advantageous).
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting the academic and social development of students with special needs.
