Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Professor of Physics role based at GGI in Khanna. The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate courses in Physics and related areas, including preparing syllabi, delivering lectures, conducting tutorials, and supervising laboratory sessions. The role involves designing assessments, evaluating student performance, providing academic advising, and supporting students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
The Assistant Professor will engage in scholarly activities such as research, publications, and participation in academic conferences or seminars. Additional responsibilities include contributing to curriculum development, collaborating with colleagues on academic initiatives, participating in departmental and institutional committees, and supporting outreach and student development activities.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in core Physics, with the ability to teach a range of undergraduate Physics courses and related laboratory work.
Competence in Theoretical Physics, with skills in conceptual modeling and advanced problem-solving.
Proficiency in Mathematics relevant to Physics, including analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
Knowledge of Physics Education principles, with experience or interest in modern pedagogical methods and outcome-based teaching.
Familiarity with Astronomy concepts and the ability to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives into teaching, where appropriate.
Master’s degree in Physics or a closely related field;
PhD in Physics or near completion is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, including clear communication, classroom management, and student mentorship.
Evidence of research potential or ongoing scholarly work, such as publications, conference presentations, or funded projects.
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community and contribute positively to departmental and institutional goals.
Commitment to ethical conduct, inclusive teaching practices, and continuous professional development.
