Job Description – Assistant Professor (Architecture)

Position Summary
Chandigarh University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Assistant Professor of Architecture to join our academic team. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding research and studio projects, and contributing to academic development in the field of Architecture and Design.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lectures, design studios, and tutorials in Architecture and related subjects.
Guide students in architectural design, working drawings, and research-based projects.
Mentor students in internships, dissertations, and professional practice.
Develop innovative teaching methods and contribute to curriculum development as per COA guidelines.
Conduct research, publish papers, and contribute to the advancement of architectural knowledge.
Participate in academic and administrative responsibilities of the department.
Organize workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and industry interactions to enhance student learning.
Collaborate with faculty and industry experts to promote interdisciplinary learning.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s in Architecture (B.Arch.) with First Class and Master’s degree in Architecture or allied specialization from a recognized university (as per COA norms).
Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA), India is mandatory.
Ph.D. in Architecture (desirable but not mandatory for Assistant Professor).
Strong academic background with a passion for teaching and research.
Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, etc.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Skills & Competencies
Strong design and visualization abilities.
Ability to guide students in model making, studio work, and field projects.
Commitment to academic excellence and student success.
Research orientation and ability to contribute to publications/grants.
Team spirit with active participation in departmental activities.
