Job Summary
The Energy Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing energy consumption across all manufacturing divisions, conducting comprehensive energy audits, ensuring statutory approvals, and maintaining full compliance with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and the Energy Conservation Act . The role focuses on cost reduction, sustainability, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
Energy Management & Audits
Plan, conduct, and coordinate periodic energy audits for all divisions and facilities
Carry out detailed electrical, thermal, and utility energy audits (power, fuel, water, steam, compressed air, HVAC, lighting)
Analyze audit data and identify energy conservation opportunities (ECOs)
Prepare detailed energy audit reports with savings estimates, CAPEX, ROI, and payback periods
Ensure implementation and tracking of audit recommendations
Support internal, external, and BEE-certified energy audits
Statutory Compliance & Approvals
Ensure compliance with the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 and amendments
Manage BEE compliance , including registration, reporting, and documentation
Handle statutory approvals and coordination with State Designated Agency (SDA) and electrical authorities
Prepare and submit mandatory energy returns, performance reports, and audit submissions
Support compliance for Designated Consumer (DC) requirements, if applicable
Monitoring & Optimization
Monitor energy consumption and establish Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs)
Benchmark energy performance across divisions and against industry standards
Optimize utility operations (DG sets, boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems)
Evaluate and implement renewable energy and sustainability initiatives (solar, waste heat recovery, etc.)
Management Systems & Reporting
Lead ISO 50001 Energy Management System implementation and audits
Prepare dashboards and presentations for senior management
Coordinate with production, maintenance, finance, and purchase teams
Train employees on energy conservation and compliance awareness
Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in energy auditing and utility systems
In-depth knowledge of BEE regulations, PAT scheme, and statutory compliance
Qualifications
BE / BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering
Certified Energy Manager (BEE) Mandatory / Strongly Preferred
Minimum 6-12 years of relevant experience in energy management within manufacturing
Salary:
Maximum gross up to 11 LPA based on your current salary.
