Associate Manager - Trade Settlements

Location: Mohali

Role Purpose Statement
The overall responsibility of the Associate Manager
-Settlements is to ensure accurate and timely input of commodity purchase and sales orders/contracts including amendments in the system (SAP), load order creation and application for Rail, Truck and Barge movements, create and apply tickets in SAP, Purchase and sales execution in SAP, freight adjustments, quality claim settlement, payment proposal creations as well as preparation of daily reports as per business requirement

Main Accountabilities
Ensure all contracts are executed in SAP in line with established SLAs, ensuring accurate and timely data input.
Oversee and ensure proper contract management processes are followed for all global settlement’s transactions.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies in contract execution or system errors, in coordination with relevant departments.
Manage and ensure zero aging of vendor dues by working closely with the accounts payable (PTP) team.
Monitor payment cycles, address vendor queries, and ensure adherence to payment terms.
Develop strong vendor relationships and proactively address any issues to ensure smooth financial settlements.
Oversee the month-end reconciliation process, ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation of all global settlement’s transactions.
Collaborate with Record to Report (R2R), PTP, and Risk departments to ensure smooth and efficient close processes.
Identify and resolve discrepancies during reconciliation and escalate issues as needed to senior management.
Work closely with integrated departments (R2R, PTP, Risk, etc.) to ensure alignment of processes, data consistency, and accuracy.
Facilitate seamless communication between global settlements and other finance teams to eliminate duplication of work and streamline processes.
Provide thought leadership on how different functions can work together more efficiently.
Lead process optimization initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness in global settlements operations.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and reduce processing times

Education & Experience
Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
Desirable minimum 8-10 years of experience in International Agri-commodity
execution/finance.
Advanced in both written and verbal English. Knowledge of any other foreign language(s) Would be an advantage.
Computer proficiency (SAP, Analytical tools, MS Office).
