About

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Staff Network Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale backbone networks supporting private and public cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, network automation, and cloud networking, along with the ability to influence architecture, mentor engineers, and drive reliability at scale.

What You'll Do

Design, implement, and operate high-availability backbone networks across data centers and cloud

platforms

Lead architecture for private cloud, hybrid cloud, and public cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP as

applicable)

Own L3/L2 routing design including BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN
Drive network scalability, resiliency, performance, and security best practices
Troubleshoot complex network issues across backbone, data center, and cloud environments
Define and enforce network standards, design patterns, and operational runbooks
Lead and contribute to network automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar
Partner with cloud, platform, security, and infrastructure teams on end-to-end solutions
Review designs, provide technical guidance, and mentor senior and mid-level engineers
Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response for major outages

Who You Are

Technical Skills

7+ years of experience in network engineering, with strong backbone or large-scale infrastructure

exposure

Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN
Hands-on experience with data center and backbone routing/switching platforms (Cisco, Juniper,

Arista, etc.)

Strong experience with cloud networking:
VPC/VNet design, routing, peering, transit gateways
VPN, Direct Connect / Express Route / Interconnect
Solid understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, ACLs, segmentation, DDoS protection)

Experience with network automation and IaC (Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git)
Strong troubleshooting skills across physical, virtual, and cloud networks

Behavioural Competencies

Strong ownership and accountability for network reliability and outcomes
Clear, professional communicator with cross-functional teams

Comfortable influencing architecture and technical direction at scale

Adaptable to changing priorities and evolving technologies
Encourages collaboration and ensures knowledge is distributed across the team

Experience & Qualifications

Experience designing multi-region, multi-cloud network architectures
Exposure to SDN / NaaS platforms
Knowledge of traffic engineering, capacity planning, and performance optimization
Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, Azure/GCP Networking preferre
