Associate IT Asset Analyst

Position: Associate IT Asset Analyst (Contract)
Location: Vasanthanagar

Our client is seeking an Associate/Analyst to join our Asset Management team, focused on either Hardware Asset Management (HAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM). This role is ideal for someone early in their asset management career who is looking to build deep expertise in one discipline while learning the fundamentals of the other. You will execute day-to-day tasks under the guidance of the Asset Manager, with a strong focus on data accuracy and process discipline.

This is a contract position with potential for full-time conversion based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities:
Asset & License Record Keeping
Maintain and update asset or license records (hardware inventory or software entitlements, depending on track), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Process routine transactions such as asset intake, tagging, allocation, transfer, retirement, or license assignment and reclamation.
Perform basic reconciliation between physical/virtual assets or deployed software and system-of-record data, flagging discrepancies to the Asset Manager. Reporting & Compliance Support
Support renewal and audit activities by gathering, organizing, and validating documentation.
Assist in preparing routine reports and trackers on asset status, license usage, or compliance items.
Respond to and log asset- or license-related tickets and requests within defined SLAs. Learning & Collaboration
Learn and apply team tools, processes, and policies for HAM or SAM, building toward broader cross-discipline knowledge over time.
Work closely with the Asset Manager and other team members to escalate issues and clarify requirements.
Coordinate with IT and other departments on routine asset- or license-related requests.

Requirements:

Experience:

2+ years of hands-on experience in either Hardware Asset Management (HAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM); exposure to the other discipline is a plus.
Technical Aptitude:  Familiarity with ITAM/SAM tools and basic awareness of the ITIL/ ITSM framework; comfortable learning new systems and processes.
Attention to Detail:  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow defined processes consistently and flag exceptions.
Professionalism:  Good written and verbal communication skills, a proactive attitude, and willingness to learn from and collaborate with senior team members.
Work Environment:  Collaborative team player, willing to work from our Bangalore office.
