Senior Database Tech Lead

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced  Sr. Database Tech Lead  to lead our database development and optimization initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server along with the ability to guide and mentor a team of SQL developers. You will be responsible for ensuring high performance, enforcing best practices, and driving continuous improvements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align database strategies with business objectives.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong technical leadership, a strategic mindset, and a passion for building high-performing teams and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, and maintenance of high-performance databases using Microsoft SQL Server (2019/Latest versions).

• Architect scalable, secure, and reliable database solutions aligned with business needs.

• Review, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

• Define and enforce database development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.

• Drive performance tuning, query optimization, and database scalability initiatives.

• Mentor and manage a team of SQL developers; provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews.

• Plan and allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of database-related activities.

• Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and process improvements.

• Stay updated with the latest database technologies, tools, and industry best practices.

• Oversee and support reporting solutions including SSRS (preferred).

Candidate Profile

• 9-14 years  of experience in database development and management using Microsoft SQL Server.

• Strong expertise in MS SQL, T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of developers.

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

• Experience in database architecture design and large-scale data handling.

• Exposure to SSRS or other reporting tools is preferred.

• Strong understanding of data security, indexing, and database optimization techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and drive technical excellence.
